Wine Description for Invitation Extra Brut Base 2021 by Huré Frères
- Colour & Appearance
- Vibrant straw yellow with a seductive hint of copper – the fine, persistent perlage rises in elegant streams and already reveals the meticulous handcrafted work in the cellar of the Huré brothers.
- Nose
- The nose is as inviting as the name promises: apricot and white peach open the proceedings, followed by warm notes of fresh patisserie and a whisper of vanilla. Ripe apple and a subtle cherry note join in, underpinned by crushed chalk stone – classically Champagne, yet of remarkable vibrancy.
- Palate
- On the palate, the Invitation unfolds with fine, creamy mousse and a fruit fullness of citrus, tree fruit and stone fruit. The texture is mouth-filling and yet remarkably agile – a Champagne that builds pressure without being pushy. A pronounced mineral vein runs through the palate, accompanied by discreet herbal and stone spice.
- Finish
- Long, precise and balanced: in the finale, the Invitation displays exemplary balance between fine residual sweetness, lively acidity and aromatic complexity. The finish lingers – mineral, fresh, sustained.
- Terroir & Origin
- The grapes come from the Montagne de Reims – the villages of Ludes and Villedommange – as well as from Vavray Grand in Vitriat. A terroir that unites depth and minerality with rounded fruit fullness.
- Grape Variety & Vinification
- A cuvée of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier and 20% Chardonnay. The base is formed by the vintage 2021, enriched by 25–40% reserve wines from a solera – a method that ensures continuity and complexity. Disgorged in November 2024 with a restrained dosage of 4.5 g/l: Extra Brut, as it should be.
- Food Pairing Suggestions
- Ideal with scallops in butter sauce, lobster or fine sushi. Equally convincing with goat’s cheese, creamy risottos or simply as an aperitif – an invitation that needs no occasion.
- Special Features
- The Invitation is the calling card of François and Pierre Huré – and at the same time their promise: artisanal precision, expressive terroir and a style that effortlessly unites freshness and depth. A Champagne that demonstrates what the Montagne de Reims can achieve in masterful hands.
