The Balance glass presents itself with elegant, compact silhouette – 195 mm tall, 113 mm diameter, 590 ml volume. The characteristic, even more pronounced kink and shortened side walls lend it a powerful yet delicate appearance. The mouth-blown manufacture creates that microscopically rough inner surface that makes the glass the ideal partner for structure-driven wines.

Palate

The Balance glass was deliberately developed to present structure, phenolics and tannins in perfect harmony. The distinctive shape integrates and balances without distorting the wine’s true character. Terroir and fruit remain authentically preserved, whilst the glass elegantly brings out complex textures and tannins. Ideal for wines that derive their balance from extended lees ageing, deliberate oak use or phenolic maturity.

Grape Variety & Vinification

A paradigm shift in glass culture: The Balance is the world’s first wine glass that is not oriented towards grape varieties, but towards wine structure. Developed by Christoph and Michael Hinterleitner after two years of intensive tastings, it showcases structure-driven white wines, whole-bunch fermented red wines, macerated wines and complex sparkling wines with oxidative elements in all their beauty. The mouth-blown manufacture is not a matter of style, but a conviction about quality: the rough surface develops wine expression significantly more intensely than machine-made glass.
