Friulano
Friulano is the soul of Friulian viticulture. Once known as Tocai Friulano, this variety native to north-eastern Italy produces white wines of remarkable texture and subtle spice. In the glass, it reveals delicate hay flower aromas, ripe stone fruit, and a fine, characteristic bitter almond note on the finish. Friulano possesses a gentle acidity, yet impresses with a dense, creamy body and a saline minerality that pairs beautifully with air-dried ham or herb risotto.
The variety demonstrates its full potential as a structural partner in the Uvaggio Bianco “Areore” from Scarbolo. Together with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, it yields a multi-layered white wine in which the Friulano contributes the characteristic herbal spice, ripe fruit, and a wonderful inner balance.
