Bical

Bical is one of the traditional white grape varieties of the Portuguese Dão. It produces wines with pronounced acidity and the ability to age for long periods – characteristics that are rare in warm regions. In blends with Encruzado or Cerceal, it contributes structure and freshness.

At Niepoort, Bical is vinified in the Quinta da Lomba Garrafeira as part of a complex white wine that can mature in the cellar for years.
