- Terroir & Origin
- The grapes come from carefully selected vineyard sites around the eponymous Pico Tuerto, one of the region’s highest mountains, at an average elevation of 600 metres. The clay-rich soils and cool altitude shape the wine just as much as the Atlantic climate, which sets Bierzo apart from many other Spanish wine regions.
- Grape Variety & Vinification
- Pure Mencía from vines over 100 years old – a rare treasure. The grapes are completely destemmed and spontaneously fermented, lending the wine depth and authenticity. It then matures for 12 months in 500-litre oak barrels – large enough to preserve the fruit character without overwhelming it. A project from the renowned Galician winery Attis from Rías Baixas.
