Wine description for Moscato Giallo DOC 2024 from Manincor

Character

The Goldmuskateller - known as Moscato Giallo in the Italian Alto Adige - is one of those aromatic grape varieties that combine their Alpine origins with Mediterranean flavour. With Manincor, one of the most renowned wineries on Lake Kaltern, this historic variety is vinified with the precision that characterises the estate. The 2024 vintage presents itself with 12.5% Alcohol and dry orientation as a modern interpretation of a grape variety that has been cultivated in South Tyrol for centuries.

Terroir and origin

Manincor cultivates its vineyards in the DOC South Tyrol between Kaltern and Lake Kaltern, where the interplay of Alpine climate and Mediterranean influences creates ideal conditions. The cool nights and warm days of the region preserve the natural acidity structure, while the altitude ensures freshness and elegance. The Goldmuskateller thrives here on chalky soils, which give the variety its characteristic minerality.

Winemaking philosophy

The Manincor winery stands for Uncompromising quality and sustainable cultivation. The Goëss-Enzenberg family combines centuries-old tradition with modern cellar technology. In the case of Goldmuskateller, this means careful hand-picking, temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing in steel tanks in order to preserve the varietal aromas. The winery's philosophy is aimed at wines with precision and drinking flow - not overloaded flavour bombs, but elegant terroir wines.

Food recommendations
