Nose
This vintage presents itself in a clean and clear manner, less wild than its predecessors. The nose seduces with aromas of wet pebbles, lemon zest and green mandarins. Fine mineral notes and Mediterranean herbs such as sage, thyme and chervil join in – an olfactory walk through the Roussillon maquis.
Palate
Crystal clear on the attack, with fine viscosity and a delicate salinity that recalls proximity to the Mediterranean. The fruit shows itself subtly in the extract, never obtrusive. A ripe, exciting acidity runs through the entire palate, herbaceous contours animated by invigorating herbal notes. A wine of remarkable drinkability and balance.
Finish
Refreshing and herbaceous-spicy, with lingering minerality and a hint of citrus peel. A wine that invites you to take the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
The vines, averaging 35 years old, are rooted in loamy and chalky soils in Roussillon, France’s southernmost wine region. With a modest yield of 38 hectolitres per hectare, concentrated and characterful wines are produced.
Grape Variety & Vinification
An exciting cuvée of equal parts Macabeu, Rolle (Vermentino), Grenache Blanc and Chenin Blanc. Hand-picked, spontaneously fermented and aged in stainless steel without oak contact – a prime example of purist winemaking that gives terroir pride of place.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Perfect with grilled fish, seafood, goat’s cheese or a summery herb quiche. Also an excellent choice with sushi and light pasta dishes with lemon and olive oil.
