Wine Description for La Rose de Manincor IGT 2025 by Manincor

Character
La Rose de Manincor presents itself as an elegant rosé wine from the prestigious cuvée of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. With 13% alcohol and a dry orientation, it embodies that Mediterranean finesse increasingly characterising South Tyrolean rosés – powerful enough for structure, restrained enough for drinkability. The combination of these two Bordeaux varieties lends it an aromatic complexity that transcends simple summer wines.
Terroir & Origin
Manincor cultivates vineyards at Lake Kaltern, one of South Tyrol’s warmest wine-growing regions, where mild lakeside climate meets alpine influences. This unique climatic position enables the ripening of demanding international varieties whilst preserving freshness and elegance. Soils of limestone and moraine stone shape the mineral structure. The estate, owned by the Goëss-Enzenberg family for generations, combines historical heritage with biodynamic viticulture – an approach that gives expression to the terroir.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Cabernet Franc brings spicy notes, floral aromatics and fine tannins, whilst Merlot provides smoothness and fruit richness. This combination, traditionally reserved for great red wines, reveals surprising refinement in rosé production. Vinification likely occurs through brief skin contact or saignée method, capturing the characteristic colour and aromatic depth without compromising freshness. The estate’s biodynamic approach suggests spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention.
Food Pairing Recommendations
A versatile companion to Mediterranean cuisine: excellent with grilled tuna, Vitello Tonnato or Antipasti with Bresaola. The structure also carries pan-fried veal or lamb rack with herb crust. For vegetarian options, it excels with tomato and burrata salad or risotto with radicchio. Its alpine-Mediterranean character makes it the ideal partner for South Tyrolean cuisine.
