Wine Description for La Rose de Manincor IGT 2025 1500ml Magnum by Manincor

Character
The estate Manincor on Lake Kaltern ranks among South Tyrol’s most stylistically influential addresses – and La Rose de Manincor is an impressive testament to this philosophy. As an IGT, the wine enjoys creative freedom beyond strict DOC regulations, which benefits the blend of international and indigenous varieties. The magnum bottle (1500 ml) promises particularly harmonious maturation: larger formats age more slowly, more evenly, and develop remarkable depth and complexity over time.
Terroir & Origin
South Tyrol is a terroir full of contrasts: alpine freshness meets Mediterranean warmth, barren mountain soils encounter intense sunshine. The distinctive day-night temperature fluctuations are the true heart of this landscape – they preserve aromatics, maintain natural acidity, and give the wines a tension that would be scarcely achievable in warm lowlands. Manincor manages its vineyard sites with biodynamic commitment, lending the expression of place additional authenticity.
Grape Variety & Vinification
The cuvée unites Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and the indigenous Lagrein – a clever combination that aspires to the best of both worlds. Whilst Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure and depth and Merlot provides fullness and accessibility, Lagrein brings a distinctive dark fruit, spice, and regional identity. With an alcohol content of 13.0% vol. and dry vinification, the wine remains elegant and balanced, without falling into heaviness.
Food Pairing Recommendations
A wine of this origin and blend unfolds most beautifully alongside braised lamb loin, game ragout, or a classic South Tyrolean beef roast. It also pairs excellently with aged hard cheeses such as Trentingrana or a spicy alpine cheese. The magnum bottle makes this wine an ideal companion to a festive dining experience in good company.
