Colour & Appearance

Deep, dark purple with delicate violet reflections – a wine that reveals its youth and power already in the glass.

Nose

Seductively intense and surprisingly cool for the extreme climatic conditions of Extremadura. The fruit palette presents itself with blackberry, cassis, blueberry and sweet cherry in impressive concentration. Dark chocolate and cocoa butter lend depth, whilst juniper, rosemary and pine contribute Mediterranean, balsamic notes. Not a trace of overripeness – instead, spicy elegance.

Palate

Powerful, yet never overwhelming. The concentrated fruit intensity develops quite a spectacle on the palate, carried by a fine tannin structure with slightly green edges that create refreshing tension. The gripping acidity is pronounced and essential – it keeps this rich wine in balance and makes it enormously approachable despite its fullness. A „mouthful of wine“ that nonetheless remains uncomplicated.

Finish

Persistent with dark fruit and spicy notes, carried by the vibrant acidity structure.

Terroir & Origin

From Extremadura, a region with extreme temperature fluctuations that normally produces overripe wines. Habla achieves the feat here of preserving freshness and elegance – a remarkable expression of this challenging provenance.

Grape Variety & Vinification

A classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The assemblage combines the spicy herbal note of Cabernet Franc with the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and the velvety fruit of Malbec into a harmonious whole.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Perfect with ossobuco with braised vegetables, grilled lamb shoulder with rosemary potatoes or, surprisingly, also with a hearty beetroot and bean stew. The acidity and tannin structure call for savoury, spicy dishes.

Special Features

A modern Spanish red wine that, with just 13.5% alcohol, proves that concentration and intensity need not depend on high alcohol levels. Approachable in its youth, yet with potential for further development.
