Colour & Appearance

Cloudy sour cherry red – vibrant, unfiltered, unpretentious. The slight cloudiness is intentional, not a flaw.

Nose

A positively dance-like aromatic world: sour cherry, red berries and rose petals lead the ensemble, flanked by Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and thyme. To this is added a hint of elderflower, white pepper and anise – and right in the background a fascinating, savoury umami note reminiscent of a rich meat broth. Complex, playful and utterly inviting.

Palate

Fresh, floral and invigorating – the French Disko lives up to its name. With just 11% alcohol, it is featherlight yet characterful: a zesty, direct fruit that doesn’t weigh down the palate but rather lifts it. Uncomplicated drinking pleasure at the highest level.

Finish

Medium length, with a pleasantly fresh, herbal aftertaste. The wine bids farewell as it arrives – light-footed and with a smile.

Terroir & Origin

Matassa, the winery of Tom Lubbe in wild Roussillon, has stood for years for uncompromising natural wines from one of France’s most distinctive wine regions.
