Wine Description for Let it Flow VdF 2023 by Flo Busch

Colour & Appearance
Luminous garnet red in the glass, clear and inviting – a wine that promises drinking pleasure from the very first glance.
Nose
The nose opens like a midday flower and immediately invites generous sips. Red and black berries dominate, accompanied by cherry and liquorice. These are joined by the typical aromas of southern French garrigue, anise, a delicate yeast note and tender violets. An expressive, unadorned bouquet that radiates authenticity.
Palate
On the palate, Let it Flow lives up to its name: it flows almost effortlessly, showing itself juicy and accessible, yet structured by fine, silky tannins. The red fruit returns, complemented by a slightly medicinal note, yeast, liquorice and herbs. The wine possesses pleasant body at 13.5% alcohol, without feeling heavy – a perfect balancing act between substance and drinkability.
Finish
Medium length with lingering herbal notes and a fine spice that invites the next sip. Freshness remains present right through to the end.
Terroir & Origin
Hailing from Languedoc, this wine unites two characterful terroirs: the 30-year-old Grenache Noir vines grow on calcareous shingle with river pebbles and high quartz content. The 65-year-old Carignan is rooted in a complex mixture of yellow and blue limestone marl, sandstone, pebbles and fossils – a geological diversity that is reflected in the wine’s complexity.
Grape Variety & Vinification
The cuvée of 85% Grenache Noir and 15% Carignan was hand-harvested and fermented for 14 days on the skins, with regular pump-overs for balanced tannin structure. Spontaneous fermentation, seven months ageing, bottled unrefined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur (27 mg/L) – pure natural wine philosophy.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Served lightly chilled, an ideal companion to grilled bread with anchovies, aubergines and chorizo, saithe „Pil-Pil“ with potatoes and garlic, or lamb cutlets with grilled peppers and harissa.
Special Features
An authentic Vin de France by Flo Busch that combines natural wine principles with Mediterranean drinking pleasure – uncomplicated, honest and damn good to drink.
