Wine Description for Rosé Brut Nature by Drappier

Colour & Appearance
Pale salmon pink with copper-coloured reflections, lively, persistently fine mousse – visually already a promise of an authentic, unadorned Champagne.
Nose
Classic saignée character with intense notes of strawberries and raspberries, complemented by blood orange and a fine spice of clove. These are joined by hints of sweet cherry and an almost childlike redcurrant fizz note – fresh, direct and inviting.
Palate
Surprisingly juicy and almost quaffable in the best sense. The Champagne presents itself uncomplicated and rounded with lovely weight, fine texture and vibrant structure. Aromas of grenadine, blood orange and brioche meld with toast notes and a subtle yeasty sweetness. The light acidity and vibrant perlage keep the wine in perfect balance – a Champagne that tempts you to pour another glass.
Finish
Medium length, fresh and with fine fruitiness that invites the next sip. The mousse remains present right to the end.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards near Urville on the characteristic Kimmeridge limestone soils of the Jura – those fossil-bearing soils that also provide mineral precision in Chablis.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Pure Pinot Noir, vinified using the saignée method (direct pressing with brief skin contact). Neither filtered nor dosed – a Brut Nature in its purest form with less than 40 mg/l sulphites. The disgorgement date is engraved on the bottle bottom – transparency to be appreciated.
Food Pairing Suggestions
This rosé calls for salmon tartare, tuna tataki, vitello tonnato or pan-fried veal. Also an excellent choice with sushi, dim sum or a charcuterie board with air-dried ham.
Special Features
A purist, unadorned Champagne without dosage – for lovers of authentic, terroir-driven sparkling wines. The organic farming and minimal sulphiting underscore Drappier’s philosophy of naturalness.
