The roots of Domaine Grand go back to the 17th century. The Jura wine estate became known under the management of the brothers Lothain, Dominique and Georges Grand, who strongly influenced its fortunes between 1970 and 2015. Then Emmanuel, Lothain's son, and his wife Nathalie took over the winery and changed it fundamentally. They reduced the vineyard in Passenans from 15 to 10 hectares and introduced organic viticulture. After a trial period of three years, it was officially registered in 2018 and officially certified with the 2021 vintage. The vineyards of the estate cover the communes of Passenans, Saint-Lothain, Arbois and Ménétru-le-Vignoble. Passenans, Appellation Côtes du Jura, has the greatest diversity of terroirs. The range is classic, from Savagnin to Chardonnay and Château-Chalon. The wines are powerful and are skilfully matured in wood.
