Prensal

The white grape variety Prensal, also known on Mallorca by the name Moll, is the liquid memory of its Balearic homeland. It produces wines of fine, almost weightless texture, distinguished by subtle notes of yellow apple, wild fennel, and a salinity reminiscent of the sea breeze. Its gentle acidity makes it ideally suited to harmonious cuvées, yet at reduced vineyard yields it also reveals a deeply individual identity all of its own.

Just how vibrantly this autochthonous variety can be interpreted is demonstrated by the biodynamically farmed estate Mesquida Mora. In the »Sincronia Blanc«, Prensal joins Chardonnay and Parellada in an effortless, Mediterranean flow of drinking pleasure. A yet more structured facet emerges in the »Acrollam Blanc«, where the variety enters into a congenial partnership with the equally indigenous grape Giró, gaining perceptibly in complexity.
