Giró

The autochthonous Mallorcan grape variety Giró brings the essence of the Balearic island to the glass with remarkable depth. It is characterised by a fine, slightly creamy texture, ripe aromas of yellow stone fruit, and a subtle Mediterranean wild herb spice. Thanks to its good structure and a supportive acidity, it lends white wines a pleasant density and longevity without feeling heavy. On the limestone-rich soils of Mallorca, the grape develops a saline, mineral undertone that perfectly balances the warm character of the Mediterranean.

How harmoniously these qualities unfold in combination is demonstrated by the biodynamically farmed estate Mesquida Mora with its »Acrollam Blanc«. Here, Giró is blended with the indigenous variety Prensal to create a vibrant cuvée that impresses with fine phenolics and a juicy, silky richness. This wine is an ideal companion to grilled octopus, Mediterranean vegetables, or robust fish dishes.
