Colour & Appearance

Clear ruby red with medium colour depth – bright and inviting in the glass, without the dark heaviness of some Mediterranean red wines.

Nose

The nose exudes a lively, unadulterated primary fruit: ripe cherry and plum dominate, complemented by a fine layer of herbal spice and a hint of tobacco. Ripe and fresh at once – a pleasant contradiction that piques curiosity.

Palate

On the palate, the juicy fruit fullness continues: cherry and plum carry the wine with ease, supported by a refreshing acidity and a medium, supple body. The tannins are soft and polished – no resistance, only pleasure. Noteworthy: the 15% alcohol is flawlessly integrated, without heat or heaviness.

Finish

Medium length, with an invigorating spice that enlivens the palate and calls for the next sip. An honest, drinkable conclusion.

Terroir & Origin

One of the rare wines that actually leaves Ibiza – and for good reason. The island boasts just 59 hectares of vineyard, distributed across five wineries. The vines of Swiss brothers Peter and Tino Lehner grow on a finca at 320 metres altitude, on marl and sandstone soils that lend the wine its Mediterranean freshness and mineral depth.

Grape Variety & Vinification

A blend of international and Spanish grape varieties, vinified with care: cold maceration in stainless steel preserves the primary fruit, at least one year’s ageing in used French oak barrels imparts subtle complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Excellent with mushroom-filled croquettes or a creamy paprika soup. Generally an ideal companion to Mediterranean cuisine, grilled vegetables and tapas.

Special Features

The name „Blacknose“ is a tribute to the Valais Blacknose sheep – the founding family’s homeland meets the sun of Ibiza. A wine with character and history, produced in vanishingly small quantities.
