Wine description for bis-turna vino rosso 2025 by Valfaccenda
- Character
- A red drinking wine full of provenance and distinct identity. On the nose, impressions of wild herbs and fine, wet sand combine with the freshness typical of northern Italy. On the palate, it is gripping, structured and dry, with vibrant acidity and a delicate, alpine-air-like lightness that carries no heaviness.
- Terroir & Origin
- Hailing from the Roero in Piedmont, northern Italy, where Luca Faccenda and Carolina Roggero work on historic ground – a map as early as 1749 already refers to the “Valle Faccenda”. The vines are rooted in steep, sandy slopes (Sabbie Astiane), an ancient seabed that lends the wines a distinctive mineral finesse. As part of the SoloRoero collective, this organic-certified estate makes a bold statement for the independence of this underrated region north of the Tanaro.
- Grape Variety & Vinification
- Made from the traditional Piedmontese grape variety Freisa. Luca Faccenda’s philosophy is based on minimal intervention in the cellar: “Everything is already in the grape”. Vinified with artisanal care and respect for natural conditions, this wine brings the pure fruit and rustic wildness of the variety to the fore, moderated by a moderate alcohol level of 13.0% abv.
- Food Pairings
- An excellent match for hearty regional specialities such as Tajarin with Salsiccia, classic pasta with mushroom ragù or braised jugged hare. Its grippy structure also provides a splendid counterpoint to mature hard cheese.
