Nose

Breathtaking aromatic density without any heaviness: vineyard peach, apricot and orange zest to the fore, behind them a fascinating dark minerality of wet stones, flint and warm slate soil. Elderberry and raspberry meet red apples and fresh pears. The herbal spice is extraordinarily multifaceted: sage, oregano, mint, eucalyptus and lemon balm alternate. Fresh pea, coriander seed and fennel complete this intoxicating complexity.

Palate

Density and pressure on the palate, yet with striking elegance. Racy, with momentum, whereby minerality and acidity structure take command and push the fruit into the background. A cool, stony mouthfeel characterises the texture. The ethereal herbal spice combines freshness and finesse into a sensory experience that resonates for minutes.

Remarkably long and precise. The cool, mineral character dominates the aftertaste, carried by a vibrant acidity that marks the palate for minutes.

The parcel „Raffes“ within the Falkenlay is considered the crown jewel of Marienburg. The deeper grey slate and the sheltered position from cold easterly winds enable exceptional grape ripeness. One of the estate’s oldest terraces delivers year after year the foundation for Clemens Busch’s densest and most concentrated wine.

100% Riesling from healthy, carefully selected grapes. The biodynamically managed vineyard and uncompromising hand-harvesting form the foundation for this Grosse Lage that captures the essence of Marienburg.
