Nose

An aromatic fireworks display: Boskop apple, ripe vineyard peach and apricot form the foundation, above which lemon zest, meadow flowers and herbal notes hover. Added to this are honey and subtle malty accents. The nose is fulminant, powerful and multi-layered – a wine that reveals its class with the very first sniff.

Palate

Pure juiciness – the Raffes floods the palate with forceful fruit that meets delicate residual sweetness. Remarkable is the spicy tannin structure, which gives this Riesling backbone and tension. Saline minerality runs through the wine like a thread – pleasantly challenging and complex.

Riesling in its purest form. Spontaneous fermentation, extended time on lees and deliberate avoidance of fining and filtration – Busch lets the wine be what it is. With 12.5% alcohol and moderate residual sweetness, the 2020 shows itself balanced and approachable.
