Terroir & Origin

The Haloze is a gently undulating hillside region in eastern Slovenia, part of the Štajerska Slovenija wine region – Slovenia’s share of historic Styria. The steep vineyard slopes, clay-loam soils with marl and sand, along with the continental climate featuring warm summers and cool nights create ideal conditions for aromatic, structured white wines with natural freshness and tension. This terroir demands craftsmanship – and that is precisely what Vino Gross brings to the table.

Grape Variety & Vinification

The cuvée unites three varieties, each with its own temperament: Sauvignon Blanc delivers aromatic precision and vibrancy, Furmint – deeply rooted in Slovenia and known locally as Šipon – brings structure, depth and distinctive minerality, whilst Welschriesling contributes fine acidity and floral lightness for elegance. At 13.0% alcohol and vinified completely dry, this wine focuses on freshness and balance – without heaviness, without compromise.

This wine is an ideal companion to grilled fish and seafood, but also to herb-dressed vegetable dishes or light pasta dishes with citrus notes.
