Color
:
Bright straw yellow, bright and clear.
Nose:
The overture opens with a pithy spicy nose, followed by aromas of yellow apple peel, herbal spice, nut shells and light tobacco. Mild spicy notes like mace and orange zest are underpinned by wet blackboard chalk. With concentrated, dense nose it announces a hearty sip
Mouth:
With a creamy, viscous entry, it also hits the palate with herbaceous spice. The taut acidity balances the lush feel and gives it proper swing in the hip. The fruit acts supportively with ethereal phenolic contouring. Juicy and punchy with pronounced lace, the 2018 Grüner Veltliner from Hajszan Neumann's Ried Haarlocke takes no prisoners. Grown on the upper plateau of the Nussberg on quartz-rich clay soils with a high lime content, this wine is not spilled, but rather plastered. Substantial Veltliner pleasure for roughnecks.
