Pinot Blanc (Pinot Blanc)
Pinot Blanc, highly valued internationally, is a master of subtle tones and fine texture. Originally originating in Burgundy from a bud mutation of Pinot Gris, it captivates in the glass with subtle aromas of yellow apple, fresh almond, and an often salty mineral character. Its soft, ripe acidity structure makes it one of the most versatile food companions in the wine world. How sensitively the variety reflects the terroir of its origin can be experienced in Southern Styria, where the Tement winery imparts a cool, precise structure to it on lime-rich soils. That Pinot Blanc also provides fine creaminess in sparkling wine is proven by the Rheingau winemaker Peter Jakob Kühn, who allows the grape to mature into a profound sparkling wine in a characterful blend with Riesling.
