Wine description for Raisin de Loup Rouge VdF by Marcoux

Colour & Appearance
Medium carmine red with appealing transparency – a wine that doesn’t hide its southern French origins in the glass.
Nose
Uncomplicated and seductive: ripe red and black berries, cherries and dried cherries dominate the bouquet. These are joined by liquorice and a delicate hint of olive tapenade. The slightly earthy note lends depth and Mediterranean character to the aroma – a classic vin de soif from the Southern Rhône.
Palate
Juicy, finely spiced and with pleasantly earthy grip, the cuvée presents itself on the palate. The dark, ripe fruit is perfectly balanced by lively acidity and juiciness. Despite its approachability, the wine displays fine texture and pleasant grip, along with subtle extract sweetness and spicy components. Round, irresistible, yet far from trivial.
Finish
Medium-length with lingering fruitiness and fine spice that invites the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
From two parcels on the banks of the Rhône – Grand Rhône and Petit Rhône. The vineyards, farmed organically since 1991, with alluvial and clay soils provide the foundation for this authentic Southern Rhône character.
Grape Varieties & Vinification
Cuvée of Grenache, Syrah and Caladoc. Hand-harvested grapes in small crates, double selection in vineyard and cellar. After destemming, spontaneous fermentation with daily punch-downs of the cap. Maturation in concrete tanks, bottling after approximately six months – a vinification that preserves freshness and fruit.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Versatile companion to grilled vegetables, ratatouille, lamb cutlets, pasta with tomato sauce or Mediterranean tapas. Serve lightly chilled in summer, enjoy at room temperature in winter.
Special Features
An honest, uncomplicated southern Frenchman for every day – a thirst-quencher with character and expression of its terroir. The perfect vin de soif from a renowned organic winery.
