Wine Description for Le Rosé IGP 2024 1500ml Magnum by Chêne Bleu

Colour & Appearance
Pale, crystal-clear rosé with delicate, almost translucent colour – a visual statement of elegance and freshness from the altitude.
Nose
Intense and multi-layered, this Provence rosé presents itself with bright notes of redcurrants and grapefruit, followed by ripe peaches and mirabelle plums. These are complemented by herbal hints and the aroma of white flowers – an aromatic composition that combines freshness with southern abundance.
Palate
On the palate, the full class of this rosé reveals itself: juicy and fresh, yet surprisingly powerful and deep. The balance between Provençal elegance and southern French opulence is achieved effortlessly. Red fruit meets citrus notes, whilst a pronounced minerality lends structure and precision. The chalky texture caresses without losing tension.
Finish
Juicy, mouth-watering and remarkably persistent – a finale that immediately calls for the next sip. The mineral freshness carries far.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from high-altitude vineyard sites at around 530 metres elevation on the southern Rhône slopes. Particularly the 60-year-old Grenache vines on clay and limestone lend this rosé its remarkable depth and minerality – the altitude guarantees freshness despite the southern sun.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Direct pressing of approximately two-thirds Grenache Noir (from 60-year-old vines), supplemented by Syrah and Mourvèdre from younger plantings. Spontaneous fermentation and ageing in used barrels impart complexity without overwhelming the fruit.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Perfect with grilled fish, bouillabaisse, vitello tonnato, goat’s cheese salad or Provençal vegetable dishes. Also an exciting choice with sushi and Asian cuisine featuring citrus notes.
Special Features
The magnum bottle (1500ml) promises even slower, more harmonious development. A rosé with character and depth that demonstrates the category can offer far more than mere summer lightness.
