Wine information
The red Reserva is the flagship of the Remirez de Ganuza winery. The cuvée consists of 88 percent Tempranillo and, in order to obtain more structure and freshness, 10 percent Graciano and 2 percent white grapes. The vines are on average over 60 years old. The vineyards are located in various towns in Rioja Alavesa. The Reserva 2015 matured for 27 months in new barriques, mainly made of French oak. In style and make, this wine combines some elements of the so-called classic, but above all of the so-called modern Rioja, which stands for red wines with more fruit and body.

Nose
With notes of ripe red and blue fruits as well as spicy, smoky and earthy aromas, the nose of the 2015 Reserva is very complex. Overall, the intensity of the bouquet is high and the balance is very good.
Palate
The Reserva 2015 stands for powerful elegance par excellence. On the palate, it is full-bodied and densely structured, with lively acidity and impressively fine tannins. This red wine is rich and concentrated, but not heavy. It always keeps the tension and has depth. The taste picture is multi-layered and expressive. It contains fresh primary aromas as well as riper tones and minerality. Fruit, acidity, tannins and wood are superbly balanced. And the long, juicy finish also makes an impression. It is certainly no coincidence that Remirez de Ganuza is one of the most renowned wineries in Rioja.
