Wine information
100-year-old vines of Samsó a.k.a. Carineña or Carignan Noir in a chalky site, spontaneously fermented and aged in demi-muid. 663 bottles were produced.
Color
medium garnet red
Nose
This old-vine Carignan smells clear and concentrated of pickled plums, blackberries and black cherries, accompanied by pine resin and liquorice, anise, fennel and violets. There are also some very fresh notes of pomegranate juice and orange peel.
Mouth
On the palate, the wine appears seductively ripe, sensual and silky with a very fine texture reminiscent of grated dark chocolate. It is impressive how the ripe but present acidity, together with the lively minerality, provides a cool vein. This is an aromatic, complex and precisely defined wine of great beauty with an excellent long and intense finish.
