Colour & Appearance

A radiant orange-red with remarkable inner luminosity. The mousseux displays itself as delicately fine-bubbled and elegant after the initial vigorous effervescence – a visual promise of the calibre of this Grand Cru.

Nose

Seductive and complex in equal measure. The nose reveals an intoxicating melange of ripe strawberries and vanilla cream, reminiscent of an airy summer cake. Beneath this layer cranberries and blood oranges, accentuated by refreshing notes of mint and verbena. This aromatics profile feels inviting and light-footed, yet cleverly conceals the depth and intensity that slumbers in the glass.

Palate

Here reveals itself the true nature of this extraordinary Rosé de Saignée. The playful character of the nose yields on the palate to a serious, powerful presence. The Champagne unfolds impressive pressure and body, yet remains perfectly balanced between fruit, minerality and vibrant acidity. The minimal dosage of just 4 grams underscores the purity and precision. A fine tannin structure lends framework and grip – this is no aperitif Champagne, but a serious food wine with substance.

Terroir & Origin

From the single vineyard site Le Revers du Plumecoque in Chouilly, one of the most prestigious Grand Cru locations in Champagne. The chalk soils impart to this single-varietal Pinot Noir a mineral precision that is distinctly perceptible on the palate.

Grape Variety & Vinification

100% Pinot Noir from the 2020 vintage. The grapes macerated for two days on the skins before pressing – hence the intense colour and tannic body. Spontaneous fermentation without malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, ageing on the lees under cork for 43 months, disgorgement à la volée in December 2024.

This powerful rosé demands substantial dishes: roasted duck, tuna steak, pink roasted veal or grilled salmon. Also an excellent choice with creamy mushroom risotto or mature soft cheeses.
