Wine Description for Le Rosé IGP 2024 by Chêne Bleu

Colour & Appearance
Pale, crystal-clear rosé with brilliant luminosity – a classic Provence profile that signals elegance and restraint.
Nose
Intense and multi-layered: red currants and grapefruit dominate, accompanied by juicy peaches and mirabelle plums. Beneath this lies a delicate herbal tapestry with hints of white flowers – an aromatic interplay between fruit and Mediterranean freshness.
Palate
Here the true class of this rosé reveals itself: the juiciness and freshness combine with a surprising depth and power that is rarely found in this category. Red fruit and citrus notes merge with a pronounced mineral component. The chalky texture lends the wine structure and substance without compromising elegance.
Finish
Juicy, mouth-watering and persistent – the wine makes you crave the next sip. The balance between fruit, freshness and minerality lingers long.
Terroir & Origin
The elevation of around 530 metres is the secret of this wine. Old Grenache vines (60 years) on clay and limestone bring concentration and character, whilst the altitude provides the refreshing acidity and precision – a perfect interplay of Southern Rhône opulence and alpine freshness.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Roughly two-thirds Grenache Noir, complemented by Syrah and Mourvèdre from direct pressing. Spontaneous fermentation and ageing in used barrels lend the wine complexity without oak dominance – crafted with precision.
Food Pairing Suggestions
With grilled fish, bouillabaisse, vitello tonnato or goat’s cheese salad. Also an exciting pairing with Asian dishes featuring ginger and lemongrass.
Special Characteristics
A rosé with ambition: balanced between Provençal lightness and southern French substance. More than just a summer wine – genuine winemaking philosophy in the glass.
