Colour & Appearance

Deep, luminous purple-red with youthful intensity – a wine that already displays its power in the glass.

Nose

Here the full finesse of Priorat reveals itself: blueberries and blackberries meet cassis and black cherries. These are joined by cinnamon, graphite and an intoxicating mélange of rose petals, violets and mint. Notes of black tea and crushed stone lend the bouquet a mineral depth. Fascinating is the transparency alongside expressivity – subtle, clear, elegant.

Palate

The elegance of the nose continues seamlessly on the palate. The Cabernet Sauvignon contributes blackcurrants and a tart cherry juice character, accentuated by barberries and pomegranate seeds. The Syrah brings plums, violets, bresaola and black olive tapenade into play. With increasing aeration, the wine becomes warmer and more chocolatey, displaying a creamy texture and the sweet core of Grenache with its characteristic liquorice note. The tannin is pronounced, yet remarkably fine-grained. Noteworthy: the absence of perceptible oak puts the excellent fruit completely in focus.

Finish

Magnificent length with perfect balance between density and elegance. Complexity unfolds layer by layer – a long, sensual aftertaste.

Terroir & Origin

From Gratallops in the heart of Priorat, where Daphne Glorian was among the pioneers who rediscovered this legendary region in the late 1980s. The vines have been managed biodynamically by Ester Nin for years.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Cuvée of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Spontaneous fermentation in wooden cuves and concrete, 18 months ageing in old barriques, clay amphorae and concrete egg. The French varieties lend the wine that superb balance which elevates it far beyond a classic „second wine“.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Venison loin with chanterelles and balsamic jus, wild duck with red cabbage and pumpkin, pheasant terrine with cherries or hearty braised dishes with dark sauces.
