The Domaine Flo Busch of Florian and Paola Busch is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon in the picturesque village of Montpeyroux. After studying oenology and working as cellar master at Domaine d'Auphillac, the two set up their own business in 2018.

The vineyards are located in a green valley and currently include the varieties Vermentino , Carignan and Syrah. The vineyards are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics.

The Pointe du Jour is a cuvée of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache. The vines were planted in the late 70s, Syrah and Grenache are on limestone screes, the Carignan on blue and yellow marl soils. The wines are hand-picked, hand-pressed, spontaneously fermented and bottled after 15 months in used barriques and unfined and unfiltered with minimal SO2 added.

Color

Dark purple with violet reflections and black core.

Nose

The 2020 Pointe du Jour by Flo Busch is a clear child of its origin on the nose Dark fruit of black cherries and plums mix with mulberries, black olives, thyme and a subtle core tone reminiscent of sloes. Deep and dark, it oscillates between fruit and spice and makes the lips purse expectantly towards the glass.

Mouth

Powerful, dense and gripping on the nose, it slims down directly on the palate. The tightly woven and tightly knotted tannins contour it with tart fruit and neatly part it. Tailor-made and tight, the expansive fruit of the nose is surprisingly disciplined on the palate and is accompanied by ethereally cool top notes of wild thyme and mint. The refreshing acidity accompanies it with good grip into the fruity, tart finish.
