Overview of the drop
This excellent Fixin, which has its roots in the eponymous site Les Champs de Vosger, located below the village, impresses with its light sandy soils. Jérôme has lovingly cultivated the wine from vines over 70 years old, part of the Selection massale. The management of the vineyard plays an important role and is both organic and biodynamic. In addition, the extensive de-stemming of the Pinot Noir in tanks requires a great deal of effort. The wine was aged thoughtfully over a period of twelve months in used oak barrels, with a minimal amount of new wood. Jérôme used only indigenous yeasts, creating a natural wine that was neither fined nor treated with enzymes. Gentle filtration was carried out, followed by little or minimal use of SO2.
Colouring
An appealing medium garnet red.
Fragrance
This Fixin convinces not only with its colour, but also with a wonderfully clear and bright aroma. It captivates with subtle accents of wild strawberries, a hint of raspberries, a pinch of orange and a pleasant hint of violets. With its playful and lively fragrance, it does not fail to enchant in a subtle way.
Taste experience
For the palate, this Pinot from the Champs de Vosger presents an enticing sweetness, a hint of liquorice and a slightly tart spiciness. This wine has the perfect opulence to appreciate the potential of the vintage, while appearing precise and sensual. The rounded tannin adds to the excellent overall picture of this fixin. With an aromatically dense, long and slightly salty finish, the wine is convincing, full of melting and generosity.
