About the wine
"Heureux qui comme ..." immediately invites you on a voyage of discovery. Translated, the name means "Happy who like...", alluding to the famous French poem "Heureux, qui comme Ulysse a fait un beau voyage" by Joachim du Bellay . This wine expresses its southern origin through the 60% Carignan content, a native grape variety. Carignan has recently experienced a growing appreciation and is enjoying increasing popularity as a single-vineyard grape. In 2021, it will be balanced by 40 % Grenache. As the vine with Carignan is placed in a forest centre next to a stream, its grapes need a longer ripening period than other wines of the region. This wine presents itself unfiltered and unfined, and with its low sulphur content is very compatible - a real natural treasure.

Color
A toned, deep violet with a fine illumination at the rim characterises this wine.

Nose
Intense and unadulterated, the 2021 Heureux qui comme fills the air with aromas of black cherries, mulberries, sloe and dark blackberries. A pronounced herbal note with hints of rosemary, thyme and eucalyptus harmonises with the spiciness of Kampot pepper, wood smoke, leather and cigar box. Its fragrance alone promises a great drinking experience.

Palate
The wine reveals its juicy essence on the palate; its rich fruitiness, rounded tannins and gentle acidity are a real pleasure. Its spicy structure invites a combination with spicy dishes. In a large glass and slightly chilled, it unfolds effortlessly.

Food recommendation
Try a hearty bacon-wrapped pâté with fresh rocket and roasted hazelnuts or a rack of lamb with herb butter, green beans and roast potatoes to support its full-bodied profile. As a cheese pairing, a piece of Morbier with a fresh baguette would be very fitting.
