The Argent line seems to be the joker in the Gramona family, where Xarel-lo otherwise sets the tone. If there was any proof needed that world-class sparkling wines are also lived beyond the plate of indigenous grape varieties at Gramona, it is this single-varietal Pinot Noir. It comes from the single vineyard Mas Escorpí, a 23-year-old vineyard with yields of only 2,000 kg/ha.
Only 50% of the must is gently pressed from the whole grapes. It is particularly important to emphasise the typicality of the Pinot without extracting too much tannin. The must is fermented under temperature control in 300 and 600 litre French oak barrels. The result is a base wine of good structure which, after the second fermentation, is aged in bottle under natural cork for 30 months. Shaken and disgorged by hand. No dosage.
Color
Onion skin colour with fine perlage
Nose
Fine yeast notes combined with fruity nuances of currants, raspberries and white strawberries, a touch of brioche and fresh herbs give this rosé a floral but also full-bodied character.
Palate
Floral with a fine aroma of roses, elegant but also powerful, it is extremely delicate on the palate. The fruit of redcurrant and the prominent herbal spice complement the flattering perlage perfectly; it continues to build in the finish. The play of acidity and the nutty character linger for a long time.
Drinking temperature 8°C
