Colour & Appearance

Luminous cherry red with violet reflections that underscore the youth of the 2022 vintage. Medium density, brilliant in the glass.

Nose

Fresh and inviting with notes of red cherries, strawberries and raspberries. Joined by hints of Mediterranean herbs, lavender and a fine minerality. The biodynamic viticulture reveals itself in the clear, unadorned fruit expression.

Palate

Juicy and vibrant with present yet ripe acidity. The red fruit dominates on the palate too, accompanied by fine spice notes and a subtle herbal character. The tannins are polished and well integrated – modern, but not over-extracted. Medium body at 14.5% alcohol, which is perfectly integrated and leaves no warmth.

Finish

Medium length with persistent fruitiness and a touch of black pepper. Fresh and moreish.

Terroir & Origin

The Viñas de Gain comes from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards in Rioja. Artadi deliberately omits the DOCa designation from the label, having left the association in 2015 – a statement for independent quality beyond political structures.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Pure Tempranillo, embodying Artadi’s modern interpretation of the Rioja grape: fruit-driven, precise, without excessive oak influence. The wine demonstrates the estate’s philosophy – respect for the fruit and terroir rather than heavy extraction.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Versatile food companion to grilled vegetables, paella, chorizo, lamb chops or semi-aged Manchego. Also delightful on its own.
