Color
Brilliant straw yellow with green reflections, bright and clear.
Nose
The friendly nature of Velich's 2022 Welschriesling reveals itself with a little aeration. Initially raw, the nose is reminiscent of freshly mown grass, followed by fine herbal notes of chervil, which turn fruity with increasing aeration and are reminiscent of yellow stone fruit, green mangoes and ripe melon. An expansive, expressive type beyond the usual Welsch flavours.
Mouth
Impressive on the palate thanks to its lush, open-hearted fruit flavours of green banana, netted melon and pink grapefruit zest. With its powerful stature and creamy mouthfeel, it marks the upper range of Welsch performance. Expressive and powerful with full juice ahead, it flows viscously over the palate with a gently pulsating bass. It also demands full-bodied food at the table.
