Wine information
The Txabola is a pure Graciano. The fruit comes from Elvillar in the Rioja Alavesa. The Los Lanos vineyard is located at 525 metres. It is a hillside site with clay soils that contain coral limestone and have a low water retention capacity. The 15-year-old vines are trellised. After hand harvesting and sorting, the grapes were destemmed and fermented spontaneously at a maximum of 25 °C for 18 days. The wine was then matured for 16 months in second-age French barriques.

Nose
This pure Graciano caresses the nose with ripe notes of mulberries, blackberries, figs and elderberries, mingled with hints of dark tobacco, juniper and maccia. The wine is sensual, juicy, velvety and yet seems to have a cool vein that shows itself in a note of mint and crushed stone.
Palate
Eva Fernández and Luis Ruiz Viñaspre have found exactly the right harvest time. The wine appears generous in its sensual ripe dark and fleshy fruit, but at the same time harbours a lively acidity and a tannin that offers stability and grip. Thus, the sensual juiciness combines with bite, herbal spiciness, notes of stony minerality and energy into a pleasantly long, intense finish.
