Luminous cherry red with violet and black reflections – a wine that displays its maturity in the glass with elegant refinement.

Nose

Enchantingly complex: wild raspberries and cassis meld with blueberry juice and dark cherries. Mediterranean herbal notes of rosemary, thyme and sage join the composition, counterbalanced by violets and wild roses. Fine graphite traces and exotic spices – star anise, cinnamon – round out the bouquet. An aromatic profile that combines richness with remarkable finesse.

Palate

Silky, velvety, seductive – this Gran Reserva glides across the palate with remarkable elegance. The texture is impeccable, the fruit perfectly integrated into a mineral structure that lends the wine tension and depth. Here we see the hallmark of traditional Rioja winemaking: mature, yet vital.

Grape Variety & Winemaking

Predominantly Tempranillo with a proportion of Graciano, which provides additional spice and structure. Gran Reserva status means a minimum of five years’ maturation, two of which in barrique – executed with the greatest care at Remirez de Ganuza. The result: a wine with considerable ageing potential.

Food Pairing Recommendations

Definitely decant and serve in large glasses. Perfect with beef fillet with spiced jus and rosemary gnocchi, quail with foie gras filling and white truffle or – surprisingly – charcoal-smoked beetroot with balsamic and rosemary. A wine for the discerning kitchen.
