Tasting note
Colour
translucent ruby
Nose
This Barbaresco is initially reminiscent of dried flowers and herbs. This is followed by schart cherries, earth, forest floor, a little liquorice and fermented cardamom, some black tea, dry undergrowth and quite dark tobacco. All of this is finely interwoven, not expressive, but elegant and yet penetrating.
Palate
On the palate it presents itselfh the Starderi Very juicy and silky with fine tannins. The presence and balance on the palate are outstanding. The Nebbiolo is as transparent as the colour suggests. There is a good portion of crystal-clear, bright acidity, plenty of dark, but also redpartly dried Berry fruit and a very harmonious structure and concentration. This Barbaresco you want to drink it now. And that's despite the fact that it looks more classic than modern and is actually still very young.
Food pairing suggestions
- 1. roast chicken with red cabbage and pears (poultry)
- 2. veal kidneys with chestnuts and bacon (meat, veal)
- 3. gateau di patate - Italian potato cake with Grana Padano (meat, pork)
