Guillaume Sorbe named his wine estate Les Poëte after his grandmother Esther Poëte. He received the first rows of vines from his grandfather and has gradually planted the remaining 6.5 hectares in Reuilly, Quincy, Pouilly-Fumé and Touraine since 1998. His main focus is on Sauvignon Blanc. There is also some Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Two wines are released just over a year after the harvest, most of them only after three years. The Revue du Vin de France writes that "no other wine in this region reaches this level of precision and substance." His wines are top class and are "among the most sophisticated white wines in the Loire Valley today." Guillaume achieves this with his considered manner and holistic approach, according to which his vineyards are surrounded by fields and forests and are cultivated organically and biodynamically, after which the wines are matured very gently with plenty of time.
