Wine Description for Insouciance Rosé Extra Brut Base 2022 by Huré Frères

Colour & Appearance
Intensely luminous rosé with vital, fine-beaded mousse – a visual promise of freshness and vibrancy.
Nose
The name says it all: Carefree and charming, this rosé presents itself with a seductive bouquet of wild strawberries, lingonberries and redcurrants. Subtle notes of sourdough bread crust and a mineral hint of flint add depth. Accents of grapefruit and a touch of white pepper round off the aromatic profile elegantly.
Palate
On the palate, Insouciance reveals its full class: lively, delicate and of remarkable precision. Ripe red fruits meet crisp citrus notes, carried by a creamy texture that owes its character to 18 months of ageing on the lees. The mousse is agile and persistent, the champagne itself juicy, powerful and refreshingly pure. The low dosage of just 4 grams underscores its purist character.
Finish
Remarkably long and fresh, with lingering fruit aromas and mineral tension.
Terroir & Origin
The red grape varieties come from old vines in Ludes, the Chardonnay from Villedommage – both vineyard sites that lend character and substance to the champagne.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A thoughtfully crafted cuvée of 50% Pinot Noir, 20% Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, base vintage 2022. The 18-month maturation on fine lees until February 2025 and the minimal dosage of 4 g/l define this champagne as Extra Brut with pronounced terroir character.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Excellent as an aperitif, but also with salmon carpaccio, sushi, vitello tonnato or pan-fried scallops. The freshness harmonises beautifully with goat’s cheese or strawberry desserts.
Special Features
A rosé champagne that combines elegance with accessibility – without compromise on precision and finesse. The philosophy of carefree abandon in the name belies the meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar.
