The Domaine Flo Busch of Florian and Paola Busch is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon in the picturesque village of Montpeyroux. After studying oenology and working as cellar master at Domaine d'Auphillac, the two set up their own business in 2018.
The vineyards are located in a green valley and currently include the varieties Vermentino , Carignan and Syrah.
The L'Odyssée is a cuvée of Grenache and Syrah. The vines were planted in the 50s and stand on limestone scree. Hand-harvested and hand-pressed, the wines ferment spontaneously and, after 15 months of ageing in used barriques, are bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal added sulphur.
Color
Opaque purple red with violet reflections and black core.
Nose
Dark-fruited, the generously expansive 2020 L'Odyssée by Flo Busch exudes the scent of dark berry fruits such as blueberries and mulberries, along with plum jam with mild spices such as cloves, allspice and nutmeg and the distinctive core tone. Black pepper and tapenade add spicy accents.
Mouth
The palate is also generous, dark-fruited and powerful. With juicy, saucy fruit and fine-grained tannin, it is aromatically reminiscent of dark chocolate and lends its distinctive extract sweetness arranged around the deep dark fruit. With a fine bite and delicate grip, it has slightly ethereal notes in the overtone and is accompanied by the ripe acidity into the velvety cool finish.
