Tasting note
Wine information
The wine comes from vines in the Climat Les Ormes and Aux Ormes directly on the D 974. The 0.16 hectares of cultivated land are characterised by chalky clay. After destemming, cool pre-fermentation and spontaneous fermentation, the wine is matured slowly on the fine lees for 18 months in 228-litre barriques (mainly from François Frères) with a new wood content of 50 to 75%.
Colour
quite deep, slightly transparent cherry red
Nose
The Vosne-Romanée shows clearly reductive notes of gunpowder and cassis at the beginning, but these weaken considerably with air in the decanter. This is followed by notes of cranberries and barberries, sour cherries and forest fruits in combination with a hint of cinnamon. The for Vosne-Romanée The typical sweet tar is evident here, as is a powdery, chalky note. With air and warmth, the cherry note becomes stronger and stronger and changes a little from sour to sweet.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is sensual and juicy. The reductive notes are still there at the beginning, but the silky fruit with its extracted sweetness is also present. The fact that the whole remains structured is due to the pleasant firmness of the tannins and the clear, present acidity, which is supported by a mouth-watering saltiness on the finish.
