Weinbeschreibung für Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise rouge “La Digoine” AOC 2023 von A. et P. de Villaine

Terroir & origin

Character

The 2023 vintage in Burgundy was characterised by climatic challenges, but with careful work in the vineyard, it produced grapes of remarkable quality. With its restrained sweetness (wie die niedrige Restsüße andeutet) verkörpert “La Digoine” die Philosophie des Hauses de Villaine: Präzision, Eleganz und authentischer Terroir-Ausdruck stehen über opulenter Frucht und Extraktion.

This wine is not a loud voice in the chorus of modern Pinot Noirs, but rather a deliberate whisper that invites contemplation. The moderate alcohol content of 13% emphasises the finesse-oriented style of the house.

Winemaking philosophy

Domaine de Villaine works according to biodynamic principles, with minimal intervention in the cellar and absolute respect for the terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand, fermented gently and the wine is matured in French oak barrels - not to emphasise wood notes, but to enable slow, harmonious maturation.

What characterises this wine is not loud opulence, but the subtle complexity that only comes from patient, artisanal work - a quality that is becoming increasingly rare in a wine world that often strives for instant gratification.

Food pairing suggestions

The restrained nature of this Pinot Noir makes it the ideal accompaniment for Fine poultryespecially for a classic coq au vin or roast quail with mushrooms. Also with Dishes with wild mushrooms or a Medium tyres Époisses this wine shows its true greatness.
