Tasting note
Color:
Bright lemon yellow with light reflections and subtle cloudiness
Nose:
That's grey Burgundy? Let's hear it. A phenomenal nose that is much more reminiscent of terroir-influenced Rieslings of the best provenance. It reminds me of the typical aromas of the German reference grape variety. Yellow apple, lemon, lime and peach. I also find plenty of yellow and red apple skin. This is the tart, fresh moment of biting into an apple and chewing the skin.
A veritable phalanx of herbs is spreading. Lemon thyme, lemon balm, sage, parsley and mint. This ensures length and enormous freshness. It is characterised by a delicate smoky note and a subtle dirty character. By dirty, I mean a mixture of earth, clay and yeast. Grape skins and seeds as well as raisins also provide a rare aroma from the base of the wine.
Palate:
It can bring out precisely this intensity on the palate. Fire free. Characterised by melting, compact and dense. Never broad, but full of character. It shows edge and also its pithiness again. Restrained fruit, therefore much more room for spice and herbs. Lively and refreshing thanks to the many herbs. Its phenolic nature also characterises its texture. The acidity is moderate, but the wine has sufficient length. Enormously pure, natural and earthy. A present wine that animates and represents a strong sip of wine.
