Colour & Appearance

Dense, luminous violet-red with an almost black core – a wine that promises power and concentration at first glance.

Nose

Opulent and seductive, the nose presents itself with impressive intensity. Ripe blackberries and blackcurrants dominate, underpinned by violet pastilles and dark chocolate. The Mediterranean origin reveals itself in spicy notes of rosemary, thyme and juniper. With air contact, fine coffee and compote nuances develop, along with a hint of black pepper. A floral delicacy of roses and violets lends the bouquet additional elegance – a harmonious, multi-layered opening.

Palate

Surprisingly fresh and lively for a Sicilian Nero d’Avola with 14% alcohol. Served slightly chilled, the wine displays an invigorating structure with plenty of juicy fruit and polished, ripe tannins. The balance between power and drinkability is remarkable – this wine has been crafted with great finesse. Fruit-driven, juicy and endowed with an enlivening freshness that invites the next sip.

Finish

Medium-length with fruity echoes and fine spice that lingers pleasantly.

Terroir & Origin

The grapes come from the flat, expansive land around Alcamo in western Sicily – a region renowned for powerful, sun-blessed red wines.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Made entirely from Nero d’Avola, Sicily’s most important indigenous red wine grape variety. The wine matures for 18 months, with 80% in stainless steel preserving fruit freshness, whilst 20% barrique ageing contributes subtle complexity and structure – a wise decision that prevents the wine from becoming overloaded.

Food Pairing Recommendations

An ideal companion to grilled meat, lamb chops, beef steaks or intense pasta dishes such as Penne all’Arrabbiata or Ragù alla Bolognese. Also an excellent choice with aged Pecorino.
