Info about the wine
Vindemiatrix is only expanded in special years. The name Vindemiatrix refers to the star in the sign of the zodiac Virgo. In order to start the grape harvest, the Romans waited for its appearance in the sky. Hence the Italian word for grape harvest "vendemmia" or "vendange" in French. Serrat de la Plane means "stony plateau" in Catalan and this is also the name of the location of the two vineyards and the wine produced from these extreme locations, which was pressed from vines over 100 years old.
Color
Muted violet red, delicate lightening towards the rim.
Nose
The 2014 Vindemiatrix beguiles with wild and honest fruit,
Blackberries, mulberries and black currants mingle with rosemary and juniper. Underlying the refreshing and delicately cool fruit is wild sage and black olives. Delicate notes of graphite and charcoal add finesse and complexity to this special drop from Georg Meissner.
Palate
The palate confirms the freshness and filigree of the Carignan, which at the same time knows how to convince with a firm structure and elegant coolness. With its juicy structure and low alcohol, it presents itself as an excellent food companion, preferably with dishes of its origin.
