The DO Mentrida, located between Madrid and Toledo, only became world famous through the work of the Jiménez-Landi cousins. The high altitudes, paired with a Mediterranean climate, allow top wines to be produced here. The sympathetic winegrower José Benavides Jiménez-Landi cultivates the 15ha parcel of the Bajondillo, located at 550 to 600m, organically. The remaining 5ha are cultivated strictly biodynamically. These are located at altitudes of up to 850m. The vinification takes place in barrels of 500 and 3000 litres, as the winemaker rejects a dominant wood note in his wines. The single vineyards have yields of only 10hl/ha. The result is very elegant wines.
