- Remarkably cool and sinewy, this Teroldego presents itself with striking finesse. Whilst the classic Sgarzon in the warm 2018 vintage appears dark and full-bodied, the Cilindrica version displays a fascinating elegance: mallow and sour cherries, sloe berries and redcurrants dominate. These are joined by burnt earth, tobacco and dried herbs – an aromatic profile that favours elegance over opulence.

- Here the full class of this extraordinary Teroldego reveals itself: precise as if drawn with a ruler and yet emotionally moving. Cool, juicy, sinewy – the vibrant acidity carries the wine with impressive freshness. The amphora ageing bestows upon it a texture like finest wet-and-dry sandpaper, immensely elegant and refined. The interplay between tobacco spice, acid-driven yet ripe fruit and this unique texture is simply fascinating.

- Long, cool and carried by vibrant freshness. The fine tannin structure and herbal spice resonate harmoniously.
- Terroir & Origin
- The vineyard site Sgarzon (Trentino dialect for „vine tendril“) lies in the Campo Rotaliano near Mezzolombardo on 2.5 hectares of alluvial silt with high sand content. Open and scarcely protected from cold winds, the grapes ripen approximately one week later than in the warmer Morei vineyard site – which gives this wine its characteristic coolness.
- Grape Variety & Vinification
- 100% Teroldego, eight months of maceration in Spanish 420-litre tinajas (cellar amphorae). After harmonisation in concrete tank, one third of the wine was transferred to smaller, cylindrical cilindricas (330 litres), where it aged for a further year without skins – the reserve amongst Foradori’s amphora wines.

- Hazelnut tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and balsamic cherries, braised suckling pig cheeks with liquorice, red cabbage roulades with lamb and walnuts or generally earthy mushroom dishes and spiced braised dishes.
