Colour & appearance

Bright ruby red with violet reflections that emphasise the youthfulness of the 2021 vintage. Medium density in the glass, lively brilliance - a wine that already reveals its Mediterranean origins visually.

Nose

This Roussillon blend is expressive and multi-layered. Ripe red cherries and raspberries dominate at first, followed by spicy notes of Thyme and Rosemary - the garrigue sends its regards. Subtle hints of black pepper and a fine slate minerality lend depth and complexity to the bouquet. The Carignan brings a rustic earthiness, while Grenache and Syrah provide fruit fullness.

Palate

On the palate, the Segna de Cor is smooth and accessible without losing any of its structure. The moderate alcohol strength of 13% vol. makes it surprisingly easy to drink. Juicy cherry fruit meets Mediterranean herbal spice, carried by fine, ripe tannins that give the wine grip without dominating. The minerality of the black slate is noticeable and gives the wine a refreshing tension. Medium-long finish with lingering fruit and spice flavours.

A versatile food companion that goes well with Grilled lamb chop with herbs de Provence, Ratatouille, Beef stew or savoury hard cheeses like Manchego fits perfectly. Also to Chorizo, Tapas or one Duck breast with figs it cuts an excellent figure.
